Oh, so beautiful!!! What an unusual pattern! You know, I've searched for silver spoons online and only ever find plated ones. Phoey! The antique store sells plated ones all day long but I'm not sure if I can cut/heat those so I don't buy them.
Plated ones won't work You can bend them into the normal spoon rings (the open-ended ones), that's usually fine, but the plating will burn off when you try to solder on them. I WISH i could use plated, i could make these sooo much more cheaply, but alas.
the only "good" place to buy them online is ebay =/ which you gotta be really careful with. make sure there's an actual photo of the back of the spoon and look for it to say sterling or 925. if it doesn't, or it's not visible, don't risk it. a lot of people just assume any fancy silverware is silver, they don't know what they're selling.
if you go that route though, you'll be competing with scrappers, so you usually have to pay more than scrap value. especially for nice patterns. i literally spend HOURS combing through ebay just to come away with 1-3 spoons, usually.
